Our next event...
ANNUAL OPEN NIGHT 2023
👉 If you're a man and fancy trying us out, come along!
👉 If you know a man who might enjoy the joy of singing in a male voice choir, send them along!
We are very proud of our choir and in particular the health and wellbeing benefits singing can bring to men.
Monday 2nd October 7pm Kessington Hall
Beginnings
Westerton Male Voice Choir came about because a sodden bowling green prevented members of the Westerton Bowling Club from playing, one day in 1957. Some of the thwarted members gathered round a piano in the pavilion and were so pleased with their efforts that they decided to set up a choir. They had a ready-made conductor in Jimmy Roseweir, a willing accompanist in Margaret Thrustle and a convenient rehearsal space in the Bowling Green Pavilion. An annual subscription of two & sixpence was agreed and The Westerton Male Voice Choir was formed!

Today
Westerton Male Voice Choir's inaugural visit to the Cornwall International Male Voice Festival in 2013 marked a significant shift in the choir's direction and over the last decade has enjoyed a huge increase in fortune and success. The choir boasts over 60 members, and regularly performs to thousands throughout the season in venues from the far North of Scotland in Elgin Town Hall to the South West of England in Truro Cathedral! In recent years WMVC have embarked on their own nationwide tours, sing in local care homes, stream their concerts live across the globe, regularly perform at festivals and continue to raise awareness and funds for their chosen charity.
